Pre-tour - February 11th - Arrive into Auckland International Airport and take the day to rest up and get adjusted to the time change at our airport accommodation. We will meet at here the following morning to start the tour.

Day 1 - February 12th - Our tour starts out this morning at our Auckland Airport Hotel and then we immediately head north and onto the Northland or Aupori Peninsula. Our first stop will be at Sheepworld at Warkworth where we join a live demonstration that begins with the sheepdogs rounding up the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Their experienced presenters are full of facts and explain what's happening throughout. You'll also learn how they train the dogs, farm their sheep, and use the wool to make amazing products! We will take some time to look around and then have Afternoon Tea in the Café. This afternoon we visit Whangeirai Falls at Whangeirai Scenic Reserve. The Classic Curtain Waterfall is part of the Hatea River and one of New Zealand Must See Waterfalls! The picturesque waterfall is almost 90 feet high and falls over basalt cliffs. The two viewing platforms above the waterfall give spectacular views of the falls and a birds eye view of the forest below. We then continue further north to Kerikeri and our accommodation. Welcoming Dinner and Overnight Kerikeri. (B,L,D)

Day 2 - This morning we head even further north onto the Aupouri Peninsula to take in all of its delights. We will travel to the Furthest Northerly Point of New Zealand at Cape Reinga. The Māori People believe that at Cape Reinga, “the place of the leaping”, the spirits of the departed leap from an 800-Year-Old Pohutukawa Tree on the windswept cape to begin the voyage back to their final resting place in the ancestral homeland of Hawaiki. While here we will visit the Cape Reinga Lighthouse where the currents of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet in a foaming swell of broken water over the Columbia Bank. On a clear day you can see Three Kings Islands on the distant horizon. To the west is Cape Maria Van Dieman and Motuopao Island. We will also stop at the beautiful beach at stunning Tapotupotu Bay where we will enjoy a Picnic Lunch before starting our journey back to Kerikeri. We will make a few stops along the way including Waianiwaniwa or Rainbow Falls. You will have the evening free in Kerikeri. Overnight Kerikeri. (B,L)

Day 3 - We will head back toward Auckland going down the middle of the Aupouri Peninsula with our first stop being The Bay of Islands Vintage Railway, unique in that it is the only working railway in New Zealand where the trains travel down a State Highway and right through the middle of a busy town! The vintage train uses diesel locomotives as far as the Long Bridge – the Longest Curved Wooden Bridge in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also the home of the world famous Hundertwasser Toilets! We will stop in Whangarei to find some lunch before we continue on our way. This afternoon we stop at Te Hana Te Ao Marama Māori Cultural Centre where we will have a Personally Guided Tour. On the tour we will be taken back to the time of their beautiful Princess Te Hana 300 years ago. We will hear their stories and customs that have been handed down by the elder. We will walk through the palisades and hear how the Maori defended their fort vigorously from their attackers. We then make our way to the outskirts of Auckland where we find dinner waiting. Dinner and Overnight Auckland. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Today will be spent in Auckland, the biggest Polynesian City in the world, and this cultural influence is reflected in many different aspects of city life. The city stretches over volcanic hills, sitting between the twin Waitemata and Manukau Harbours. Often known as The City of Sails, Auckland has more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world. With so many bays, beaches and islands, glistening waters seem to beckon from every point. The iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbour, which is full of superyachts and lined with bars and cafés. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens. Near Downtown, Mission Bay Beach has a seaside promenade. We will join an Auckland City Tour and then you can find some lunch on your own and enjoy the city at leisure until we meet up for a Private Auckland Harbour Dinner Cruise. Marvel at the City Night Lights and Auckland Harbour Bridge Light Display from the luxurious comfort of our fully licensed Luxury Yacht Charter. Dinner and Overnight Auckland. (B,D)

Day 5 - Leaving the big city behind we head to the Coromandel Peninsula stopping first at the Pukorokoro Miranda Shorebird Centre. The amazing annual migrations of Bar-tailed Godwits, nearly half the world population of Wrybill, whirling flocks of thousands of shorebirds, the rare geology of shell bank cheniers, the nature and rhythms of the estuary – these are just some of the features of the Miranda Coast. These and other stories are told at the Miranda Shorebird Centre on the Firth of Thames. We will stop for lunch before we travel through the Coromandel Forest Park to the Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve. Also known as Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve, it runs from the northern end of Hahei Beach to Cook Bluff Scenic Reserve. While here we will take an Ocean Leopard Explorer Cathedral Cove Boat Tour. We will explore 12 kilometers of rugged volcanic coastline visiting nearby islands, stunning beaches, including Lonely Bay, Cooks Beach, Hahei and the spectacular Cathedral Cove where Prince Caspian (Chronicles of Narnia) was filmed. We will venture across the Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve where you’ll observe an abundance of marine and bird life. Get up close and personal with towering pinnacles, giant blowholes and huge sea caves including Orua Sea Cave, one of the largest in NZ and only accessible by boat. We then make our way to our accommodation before dinner. Dinner and Overnight Whitianga. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - This morning we head south down the Coromandel Peninsula to the Gateway at Paeroa and the Bullswool Farm Heritage Park. Home to three generations of the family, the farm has a diverse and interesting array of Rarebreed Farm Animals, Working Farm Museums and an award-winning Native Bird Reserve. There is so much to see, do, explore and learn on a farm that offers an authentic taste of Kiwi Farm Life, and is one of New Zealand's most beloved and iconic rural experiences. The friendly animals of Bullswool Farm include miniature horses, emus, goats, alpacas, llamas, deer, paint horses, kune-kune pigs, miniature cattle, rabbits, rare breed chickens, ducks, pheasants, coloured sheep and donkeys. We will stop in Paeroa for lunch before we continue our journey to Hobbiton Village. We will have a private event with a Fully Guided Tour of the Movie Set. We will be immersed in the natural beauty of Middle-Earth's famous movie sets as seen in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies movies. Our guide will escort us around the set, showing us the intricate detailing, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how the movie magic was made. We will be taken around the set, past Hobbit Holes, the Mill and finally into the famous Green Dragon Inn, where you can indulge in exclusive, specially brewed beverages offering a taste of Middle-Earth. Dinner and Overnight Tauranga on the Bay of Plenty. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - This morning we make our way to Whakarewarewathe Living Māori Village. We will experience the warmth of Māori Culture on a Guided Village Tour. Following our tour The Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao People who have a proud history of song and dance spanning over a century will give a performance of traditional song and dance, and we will experience the fearsome Haka up-close. After lunch in Rotorua you may want to do some shopping as much of the work in Rotorua’s Art Galleries and Boutiques is inspired by the area’s rich local Maori culture and history. Rotorua is also known for its locally sourced beauty products – the geothermal elements of the region work wonders in face masks and skincare. You may also want to stop at the famous Lady Jane’s Ice Cream Parlour on Eat Street at the lake end of Tutanekai Street. Then prepare for the perfect fantasy experience with the thrills of a Jet Boat Ride along with the serenity of New Zealand’s untouched nature while having an adventure of squeezing through Tight Rock Passages and the refreshment of dipping in a Mystical Hot Spring Waterfall! We will explore the lake thoroughly from on land and from the water with a boat tour around the scenic Western Bays of Lake Taupō to see the huge Māori Rock Carving at Mine Bay. In the late 1970s master carver Matahi Whakataka- Brightwell carved a likeness of Ngatoroirangi, a Visionary Māori Navigator who guided the Tūwharetoa and Te Arawa Tribes to the Taupō area over a thousand years ago. He also carved two smaller figures of Celtic Design, which depict the South Wind and Ngatoroirangi stopping the south wind from freezing him. Several individual carvings each have their own story and meaning. We will Lunch in Taupō before visiting Huka Falls, a thunderous waterfall where nearly a quarter of a million litres of water bursts through a natural gorge. The giant torrent of blue water is a testament to the power of nature. We will visit the falls via a short walking track to a viewing platform.
