Day 1 - June 14th - You will be met at Edinburgh International Airport before a visit to Bentleys Tearoom in
Juniper Green for tea.
After tea we journey to Balerno where we find Malleny Garden, a 3 acre walled garden home to
the
Four Apostles. Only four of the original twelve 400 year old yew trees remain in the garden. Malleny is also home to the
Scottish National Bonsai Collection and a significant collection of old roses. We then continue to Peebles, a beautiful
market town that has been a
Royal Burgh since 1152. Welcoming Dinner and Overnight in Peebles. (L,D)

Day 2 -
This morning we make our way to Kailzie Gardens. The history of Kailzie goes back several hundred years but the
current gardens date back to 1811. The emphasis in the walled garden is on
Roses, Roses, Roses! From here it is just a short
drive to
Cringletie House where we stop for Afternoon Tea. This luxury castle type baronial mansion is set in the
tranquil and rural countryside where sheep outnumber humans. Following tea we travel to
Jedburgh and Monteviot
House Gardens which is home to Lord and Lady Lothian. The 30 acres of gardens
spill down over lawn and
through woodland onto the flood plain of the
River Teviot below. There is River, Rose, Herb and Water Gardens as
well as a
Laburnum Tunnel. Dinner on your own in Peebles. Overnight Peebles. (B,L)

Day 3 -
This morning we make the journey from the Borders into Dumfries and Galloway. Our first stop is just outside
of
Moffat at Craiglochan Gardens, a delightful garden can be found set in the beautiful Moffat Water Valley. Here you can
stroll through the blooms and spend some time in peace and tranquility. Once in Moffat we visit
Moffat Woollen Mills
Outlet
before a visit to Moffat House Hotel for Afternoon Tea. We continue on to the Royal Burgh of Dumfries
established in the year 1186.
Dumfries was a favorite haunt of Robert Burns and is a lovely place. The Globe Tavern
was frequented by Burns and is the place for a great Pub Dinner. Overnight Dumfries. (B,L,D)

Day 4 -
This morning we travel to Threave House and Gardens sited amid generally west sloping wooded parkland. We
will visit the
Public Rooms at Threave House have been restored much as they would have been in 1938. The gardens
serve as a live classroom for the School of Practical Gardening and contain a
Secret Garden, Peat Garden, Rock
Garden, Rose Garden, a Woodland Garden and Pond and Waterfall
. The we are off to Lunch at Cargenbank
Tearooms.
After lunch we take in Cally Gardens, a unique labelled collection of 3,500 varieties, especially rare
perennials and grasses. There are old greenhouses, a bothy and forest trails in the
Cally Oak Woods which surround the
garden

Day 5 -
This morning we start our journey north with a first stop at Drumlanrig Castle surrounded by the 120,000 acre
Queensberry Estate, Country Park and grand Victorian Gardens
, Drumlanrig Castle was completed in 1691 by
William Douglas
. After Visiting the Castle you will have time to enjoy the grounds including the Rose Garden with
varieties including
Buff Beauty, Felicia, Penelope, William Lobb, Duchesse de Buccleuch and a number of others.
Afternoon Tea in Glasgow at Bradford's Tearoom. We then make our way to the beautiful Trossachs region of
Scotland. Dinner and Overnight Trossachs. (B,L,D)

Day 6 -
This morning we drive through the Queen Elizabeth National Forrest and over the Dukes Pass. We travel
through
Spectacular Lochs and Glens down into the lovely village of Aberfoyle to visit the Scottish Wool Centre.
Then we have a private
Afternoon Tea at a lovely Victorian Home. This afternoon we visit Inchmahome Priory
sitting on a small island in the
Lake of Menteith. The island is reached by a boat from the pier at the Port of Menteith,
although the island is busy in the summer season, it has a peaceful atmosphere, as befitting a place where quiet devotions were
carried out daily for over 400 years.
Dinner on your own tonight. Overnight Trossachs. (B,L)

Day 7 -
This morning we head further north to Braco Castle Gardens. The 19th Century landscaped garden comprises
woodland and meadow walks with a fine show of spring flowering bulbs, many mature specimen trees and shrubs, an
ornamental pond, extensive hedging and lawns with shrub and herbaceous borders.

This afternoon we visit Branklyn Garden described as an oasis of peace and colour in
the finest two acres of private garden in the country. It contains an impressive collection of many rare and unusual plants –
among the most breathtaking are the
Himalayan Poppies. Dinner, Live Theatre and Overnight Pitlochry. (B,L,D)

Day 8 -
This morning we travel even further north to Aberfeldy and Cluny House and Gardens, a Himalayan and
North American woodland garden overlooking the scenic
Strathtay Valley. Giant Himalayan lilies, blue poppies, exotic
arisaemas, skunk cabbages and copious numbers of candelabra primulas grow in profusion here. Next we travel to the
Victorian Spa Town of Pitlochry for Afternoon Tea at Atholl Palace. The afternoon is free to enjoy my
favorite Highland Village with it's many shops. Dinner and Overnight Pitlochry. (B,L,D)

Day 9 -
Our first visit today is Kinross House Gardens which are considered one of the finest formal gardens in Scotland.
The Formal Rose Garden has planted yew hedges and trees with lovely herbaceous borders. We then visit Hopetoun
House and Gardens,
one of the most splendid examples of Georgian architecture in Britain. The House is set in 150 acres
of rolling parkland with extensive woodland walks, breathtaking vistas over the
River Forth and a deer park. Afternoon
Tea in the lovely Stables Tearoom. This afternoon finds us in Edinburgh where you will have the evening
free. Overnight Edinburgh. (B,L)

Day 10 -
Today is for you to enjoy the many sites of Edinburgh. The best way to do this is aboard an Open Top Tour
Bus.
Stops include Holyrood Palace, Grey Friar's Bobby and Deacon Brodie's. Edinburgh Castle is a must stop
as is The Royal Mile.
We will meet this afternoon at the Howard Hotel for Afternoon Tea. We will gather again later
on for a
Farewell Dinner and Scottish Evening for our last night in Scotland. Overnight Edinburgh. (B,L,D)

Day 11 -
Off to the Edinburgh International Airport for the return trip home. (B)
